Apply for a card online (restricted access)

The library provides online registration. If you live in Earl’s Cove, Egmont, Halfmoon Bay, Pender Harbour, Halfmoon Bay, Sechelt, the shíshálh Nation Government District, or Roberts Creek you can now become a library card holder by registering through our online form. Each person can register for one active library card. We ask you to come into the library with your picture ID and proof of your Sunshine Coast address to pick up your card within 30 days of receiving your library account confirmation. After 30 days, the account expires.

BC OneCard

Members of other BC libraries are eligible for a BC OneCard decal, which would give them borrowing privileges at Sechelt Library.  Likewise, Sechelt Library members are eligible for BC OneCard borrowing privileges at other public libraries in BC.

Non-residents who aren’t eligible for a BC OneCard can purchase a temporary library card for $10.00, which is valid for 1 month.

Library card holders’ responsibilities

You are responsible for all the materials borrowed on your card and for any charges on items that are overdue, lost or damaged. (See Loan Periods and Fines for details).

Lost or stolen cards

If you lose your library card, you are still responsible for any items checked out on your card. You should report it as lost immediately so we can block the card to prevent further use. There is a $2.00 charge to replace a lost card.

Change of address or password

It is important for us to have your current information. If you change your address or other personal information, contact the library and we’ll update your account.
