About Elaine Chen: Elaine Chen currently works as a video game artist and children’s book illustrator in Vancouver, British Columbia. She recently illustrated the children’s book My Day With Gong Gong (Annick Press), which was nominated for a Blue Spruce Award and a winner of 2020 Kirkus and CBC Best Books list.

Elaine enjoys playing with traditional mediums like watercolour and gouache to capture the little things in life, be it a wildflower or the warmth of a cup of tea. You can usually find her out on a sunny day with her plein-air kit in hand sitting under the trees, capturing the tiny details of the world with her brush.
