About the eBook and audioBook Service (Libby)

What are Library2Go and Libby?

Library2Go is a provincially-run service provided by BC Libraries Cooperative which provides ebooks and audiobooks to libraries in British Columbia. Libby is the app for your phone, tablet, or computer (Windows only) through which you borrow, place a hold, and read or listen to ebooks and audiobooks from the Library2Go selection. On your Mac computer you can use Library2Go in your browser. (Read more about using audiobooks on your Mac.)

How many eBooks or audioBooks can I sign out?

You can borrow 5 items at a time.

How do I return an item?

Items automatically return when the loan period expires.  They will still appear on your device, but will no longer be available.  You can either delete the title then or borrow it again. If you finish a title before its due date, you can return it early through the Managing Your Loan” section, which allows others to then borrow the item.

Can I place a hold?

Yes, you can place “holds” on 5 items at a time. When your title becomes available, you will receive an email. At that point, you have three days to decide if you want to read your title, defer reading your title, or cancel your title. All this is done through the Libby App or through the My Account section on the Library2Go website.

Can I renew items?

You can renew items if no-one else has placed a hold. The option to renew becomes available three days before the title is set to expire. You can only renew each title once.

Will my mobile device work with Library To Go and Libby?

It will most work on most devices except a Kindle.

Where can I get more help?

Contact your library for help or browse through these Help pages. *Please note that the eBook collection is hosted on a Third Party website with its own set of privacy policies.
