Weaving at the Library – September 2018

Master weaver Shy Watters started her cedar and wool blanket design entitled ‘Paddling Together” on Saturday, August 11th at the Sechelt Library. This blanket is the first big artistic collaboration for the syiyaya Reconciliation Movement, “Weaving Reconciliation: The Fabric of Our Lives”. The public is welcome to weave a part of the ‘friendship blanket’. This weaving is part of a one year project designed to raise awareness and cultivate dialogue about reconciliation in our community. Shy will be back at the library in the coming weeks. Learn about her art and add your threads to the fabric of reconciliation on the Sunshine Coast.
